The composer/rights owner must own 100% of the publishing & mechanical rights. I select suitable tracks then 2 x new tracks are produced: a more orchestral version & a more contemporary version. The composer/rights owner retains 100% of the rights to the original track. Re the 2 new versions of the track EMI - 50% Rights owner - 40% Producer (me) - 10% The new tracks are then promoted to over 50,000 production companies world wide so this is an excellent opportunity. I have also arranged that any artists outside UK can register with MCPS/PRS in the UK if necessary, so any future payments will be easier.
